I chose a basic computer science class as one of my "take anything to make up the points" courses at university. Was an arts major so of course, you know what the stereotypes are like.

I got the highest mark in the class. Literally one mark short of a perfect 100% - in the exam there was a question where we had to simulate what a piece of code would do, and while I got the programming logic perfect, I made a small mistake in the maths at one point.

Yes, I had a LOT of prior programming experience. Not in the language the course was using, but skills are very cross-applicable.
