We actually do need childcare programs in this country, one of the main reasons people dont want to have kids in America is because its just too expensive

I mean you get that it will impact consumers too right

Corporations only exist because they provide a good/service that someone wants/needs

yeah this topic's sentiment reminds me of all the idiots posting the "oh no the economy" dinosaur memes. Like you know the economy significantly affects everybody's well being right?

This is the elephant in the room. Traditionally unemployed people have taken open jobs. Something happened/ is happening during the pandemic that is caused a large number of people across many countries basically drop out of the workforce.

Sounds like we need to impose Draconian regulations on corporations forcing them to take a hit in their profits with absolutely no options, other than to provide for their workers. Make those bastards suffer.

I kinda feel having children should be a luxury and abortion should be freely available.

Yes, but if the people performing that work aren't paid well, you're just creating a class of workers who can't afford their own childcare.

Sounds like youre more interesting in taking a shot at corporations than you are in actually helping people

At this point taking a shot at corporations is what we need to help people.

Then it's very convenient, for me, and for everyone else, that hurting corporations is something that is involved in helping people in this case. Very convenient indeed.

I want my previous employer to crash and burn if they can't be motivated to treat their employees like goddamn equal human beings.

I would die happy if they went under

Yep. We let this shit spiral way out of control, so now we need more drastic measures to reign it in.

Not letting anti union propaganda run wild would have been a good start, same with giving businesses a slap on the wrist for union busting activities

And if think about it the biggest corporations out there are actually the biggest welfare queens:

Get bailed out when they fail
Get tax writes offs pay zero tax
Pay workers so little they rely on government aid and subsidies

if you really hate socialism and the transfer of wealth you should hate big corp for being such a burden on our tax

Even still Nabisco/Kellogs unions did nothing but steal workers money for a long time before doing anything here. I've been in some awesome unions and I can't imagine them just rolling over like this. I'm not sure how we go about eliminating shit unions and replacing them with ones that actually help so they aren't fucked from both ends.

You aren't entitled to people's labor or time. It's theirs, to exchange or spend how they want. Either provide what people want in exchange or go without.

It's all the iPhones and avocado toast that they're buying. Can't be anything else like rents skyrocketing or wages stagnating.
