Now when a student asks if I'm hungover I can just shave at the school since I'll have forgotten to do due to being hungover and too tired to do it at home

Get a waterproof one and use it in the shower. If you're concerned about wasting water, just do it physically in the shower (without the water on) and quickly hose it down afterwards.

Yeah that makes a ton of sense

But won't I essentially be shedding on myself?

Yourself is included in what you need to hose down. Maybe even a proper wash if you're particularly hairy in other areas where the dropped hairs could get stuck.

It's still a lot easier to clean up than getting hair all over the floor / sink / etc. And for that matter, I haven't found that non-shower-based methods completely avoid this problem anyway; they at best reduce it.

I personally also find that warm running water is better than any shaving cream. Just wash the applicable area with soap or shower gel first and you'll be good to go.

Though I have heard not to shave in running water

It's what I've done pretty much my whole teenage/adult life and I've been fine. Same goes for ignoring the "don't shave against the grain" advice, I much prefer the closer shave I get by doing that. I get the occasional ingrown hair that way but it isn't exactly hard to fix an occasional one; I'd probably stop if it was happening heaps.

Not a teacher
also even if I was, considering the school, I doubt that's a thing
