I loved the cartoons, but sadly nothing else came with that franchise. I remember they used Batman to push him hard, but people weren't watching him.

He got appearances in the time travel stuff with Justice League, but overall he's one of DC's most wasted oppportunities.

Yes. I think he used to be in different universe but he got merged with main DC Universe starting in 2011 when New 52 happened

He was a fairly new DC superhero during the cartoon's release. I do wish we had more of future adult Static.

Static has appeared in Young Justice League and was in battle, although Gear isn't in Young Justice.
