Been buying and selling some music gear on Reverb the last couple of months, and I don't think anything has gotten here in less than a week. This time it was delayed because of a processing exception, then finally scheduled for delivery today, but now shows that it's "in transit, running late"

The USPS instituted longer delivery times on October 1 as part of the postmaster general's decade-long effort to cut costs at the agency. Prior to October 1, the postal service said delivery for standard first class mail across the US should take no longer than three days, according to The Washington Post.

I went through a hell of a time trying to get a replacement social security card recently.

• Ordered replacement social security card
• USPS Informed Delivery said it would be delivered in late June.
• Got everything except for my social security card.
• USPS: \O/
• Ordered another copy since I didn't receive the first one.
• USPS Informed Delivery said it would be delivered in early July.
• Got everything except for my social security card.
• USPS: \O/
• Ordered a 3rd replacement copy since I didn't receive the 2nd one.

Republicans have been trying to destroy the USPS for decades so they can privatize it (which would absolutely fuck over their rural constituents).
Louis Dejoy is the Postmaster General appointed by Trump. The president cannot fire him, only the board of governors can do that. He could fill the empty spots on the board who could then remove Dejoy but for whatever fucking reason he hasn't done so.

He is doing exactly what Trump put him in place to do. He actually scrapped sorting machines last year.

Trump politicized the post office along with masks and a hundred other otherwise neutral things.
