8/Resurrection is what it is. Boring, but not godawful. Basically reused the best mask from 7

Halloween didnt get good again until Rob Zombie picked it up. They had to bring back Laurie Strode, work up a Scream vibe, and the mask still didnt actually work. At all sometimes. Rob Zombies is good. Its a natural evolution from Resurrection and goes back more to the original imagery they kept using in the promo material, and on the DVD covers, but failed to recreate in the actual product. He nailed it.


Lots of people preferred 3 to the other sequels until then haha. No matter how bad you make it look, people arent going to forget the original movie. Its grandfather of slasher movies. Its a Carpenter, for christs sake. Your demographic is never really gonna change because of all that.

Rob Zombie's movies sucked.

Everyone in those movies acts like you'd expect in a Rob Zombie movie, which is incredibly frustrating and just makes me hate every character.

Rob Zombies Halloween has been played more than the original at this point, for this generation.

Thats the only reason I dont watch it much anymore. Ive eked out all I can from that movie. If I wanna watch , theres a little Play button right here in my head. Theres only so much you can get from a movie. Like, Alien for example...... even when Im in the mood for some Alien, man, I have seen the thing 10,000 times already. It just doesnt have the effect anymore. Not unless I go for yeaaars without seeing it.

Rob Zombie's trash reboots were exactly that, trash. The second movie went off the fucking rails and was worse than any of the sequels.

Exactly. There's a right way to do a reboot of a popular franchise and there's a wrong way, those movies did it the wrong way.

I don't hate all remakes, The Poltergeist remake wasn't bad because it didn't shit all over the original movie. The names were changed but it still had elements from original movie while doing its own thing.

Disagree. F13th's remake was probably the best remake we've had of a horror movie in a long time.

The recent Halloween one was trash besides one scene that got a chuckle out of me.

I mean.... out of that pool, you have be able to differentiate between what works and what doesnt if youre gonna complain like this. You cant have your cake and eat it too. It is a Rob Zombie movie. Its also the best Halloween since the original. It stood that way for a decade and the other slasher franchises didnt exactly churn out many or any hits. So, I mean.... why disrespect it like that? I get it tho.

Id love to hear more about why you dont like this dark, gritty, viseceral, biopic with Malcom McDowell & Sabertooth & a Michael Myers who looks really good for once, back to basics, some nice brutal kills & gore, and its not badly acted. The characters are simple & they got some great reactions. I mean.... Where exactly did you not like it? Its a perfect movie hahahahaha

House of Thousand Corpses and all that arent, theres so many flaws and editing issues and special effects issues and writing issues and acting issues and blah blah blah

Halloween 2007 is perfect. Its arguably better than 2018. But, I mean, its looking like 2018s legacy will kick the shit out of it. So. Yeah. 2018 doesnt end as strong as 2007.

You forget the era where it came from.

Halloween, NoeS, My Bloody Valentine, tons of shit tier remakes for like 5 or 6 years in a row. F13th stood above the rest.

And the main characters(Jared Padalecki's and girl who's actress I forget) were great. The side characters were funny(perfect nipple placement). Jason was played smart, like a hunter. The gore was great. The concepts used were fantastic.

So I stand by what I said.

The kills were alright. Nothing super impressive, mostly very simple and lacked what I actually like from Rob Zombie movies: weirdness. The reason why 1000 corpses worked well was the balls to the wall weirdness. I wasn't a fan of his other stuff, though.

Characters were trash, absolute trash. And absolutely idiots. It wasn't even funny idiots like in F13th. It was just dumb as shit.

Idk, I could rant about it but I don't even hate the movie enough to waste the energy.

You know, TCM04 is actually better than F13th's remake. I forgot about it lol.

Dawn of the Dead too. Both are fantastic remakes.

Theres clearly a problem when one of us is arguing the movie is the best thing since sliced bread..... and the other refuses to even acknowledge its existence. Idk what your idea of filmmaking is. Two amigos in the middle of the night, one guys wake up the other and says hey lets film the ending?

Ten option poll limit. '78 didn't make the cut due to previous dominance in polls. Season of the Witch didn't make the cut due to lack of Michael Myers.

I liked RZ's Halloween. It was pretty brutal and I did like Sabertooth as MM.

Then again, I had seen the original cut of it, which had some extra stuff and a different ending where the cops executed him. I didn't see the theatrical cut till way later. Apparently the studio forced him to change that.

I feel RZ's Halloween 2 was bad, but the weirdness definitely felt RZ. I also feel like he took it in that direction just to get his wifey in there lol.

The Nightmare remake was pretty bad, but I still watch the Friday remake almost every year. Crazy brutal opening scene. Fucking Sam Winchester as the main character. Plus the amazing tits on Julianna Guill.

I saw the director's cut of Halloween II [2009] first, but after watching the theatrical ending scene i flip flop on which is better. Theatrical had a good Loomis kill scene and also Laurie killing Michael. Director's cut had a surprise Michael Myers line. Both endings seem to end with Laurie becoming the new Shape.

Obviously the original is the best but as a fan for 20+ years I am willing to admit the recent two movies (2018 + Kills) are the best sequels.

The original Halloween 2 isnt bad either. Season Of The Witch is good as a stand-alone movie.

4 & 5 are good too and I have a lot of nostalgia for them but Curse, and Resurrection are terrible. H20 was ok. It felt like a good finally until Resurrection undid it.

Zombies movies are different but ok. I suppose theyre at least better than Curse/Resurrection

I dont remember Resurrection being that bad. Its been a long time since Ive seen it and i would prefer not to watch it because whatever it is will certainly not live up to my memory, being early as it is. If I never saw the damn thing again in my life Id be happy.

I seem to remember the intro, the premise with the house, the overall filming style, and their version of Michael were acceptable. Good screenplay & a solid pre-production. Boring but not baaaad. Am I mistaken
