in terms of classical music, I would have to say its the laaaaate 18th century and first quarter of the 19th. Early Schnberg, late Debussy, and Scriabin are my favorites of that time. That being said, many of my favorite pieces were also composed after or before that time, and the 60s folk revival is also right at my top

my favorite movement would have to be the Dirge from Bernsteins 2nd symphony (for a more traditional answer, ill also say the 2nd movement of Sibelius 2)

the LA Phil performed a fully choreographed version of the Bernstein Mass a few years back. thatd have to be my top

I mostly use Spotify, though tbh, I go to Youtube often because there are many great performances in the last few decades that havent been released on streaming services

As a bass player, Im legally obligated to say Mahler 2 (thats one of our biggest orchestral excerpts for auditions), but really Mahler 1 is my favorite of his symphonies. Im admittedly not very familiar with his non-orchestral work outside of Kinderttenlieder; any suggestions?

See the fourth movement of Sibelius 2 might be my favorite.

Its genius! But I have to ask myself if I walk away with the same impact if I dont hear the third into it @Antifar
