... Dracula's eyeball-bat form?

I've been taking his second form out with Apollo Thunderbird because I looked it up, but then I throw on the half-damage magic and spend the third phase whipping the eyeball.

The thing is, the last stage is a total damage sponge. I must have hit the eye roughly 30 times, for 37 damage per hit. So that's roughly 1110 damage before I eventually succumbed to the bats. It took fucking AGES too.

So what's the deal? Should I prioritize a different DSS combo? I hear summoning the Thunderbird is good but I don't have the Uranus card.

If you want to be lazy you can utilize the DSS card glitch. It allows you to use any card in the game.

I mean sure, but I don't want to cheese that hard. I've already looked up videos and map layouts and stuff, I don't want to break the game to cheat on top of that. Too much hassle.

I mean I mostly solo'd the game with my whip and the boomerang, I've only really used the DSS system for Hugh and Dracula. The damage multiplier depending on how much of Dracula's castle you've explored is fucking awesome btw, I just need to use the half-damage magic because Dracula's form hits like a motherfucker.

I couldnt do it with just the whip and didnt know how to call the summon so I looked that up.

I learned his 2nd form pattern pretty well with just the whip so when he transformed into eyeball I just used that thunderbird there and killed him the first time. Though it sounds like you dont want to do it that way!

Oh no, I don't mind cheesing it that way at all lol. I just don't have Uranus yet and I don't want to glitch the game.

Like if someone knows where to get the Uranus card, that'd be great. But I also wanted to vent about how much of a fuckin damage sponge that eyeball is. Like Jesus Christ, I tanked the rest of the game with my whip. The fact that there's an easy cheese that doesn't require seven straight minutes of doing chip damage with the base weapon, that isn't like an easily telegraphed weakness like BotW or something, just kinda bugs me. But if I know about the cheese, I'll do it to save myself the time and effort.

I literally just finished it the other day and cant remember what card that is. I just followed a video guide on YouTube for the ones I didnt have. Took about an hour to get everything except the two in the battle arena. I wasnt about to waste time on that

Sure, but everyone's threshold for cheating is different. I looked up videos and a map layout, I don't want to take advantage of an in-game exploit.

It's like saying you should commit murder because you already committed a crime by stealing a loaf of bread. Maybe not that dramatic, but you get what I mean.

If you don't have Uranus then I found Jupiter + Salamander effective for bosses. I wonder if Saturn + Golem might be useful for that phase too as the hawk will be able to hit the floating eye easily.

Sure, but my castle completion percentage is 92% at this point. All that's left are a handful of hidden rooms that have weaseled themselves away from me and the Battle Arena.

I beat Circle of the Moon by cheesing the Thunderbird summon.

Overall? Pretty good game! I liked it a lot. Kinda wild how this one was produced by the guy behind Castlevania 64, not Koji Igarashi.

I'm playing Dracula X right now, and I'm using save states and the rewind feature like there's no tomorrow. I don't have anything to prove, and I have no need to front. Circle of the Moon is manageable, but the older, clunkier Castlevania games? There's no shame in admitting I'm a massive bitch, lol

I don't consider looking up drop tables to be hardcore cheating personally. How are you supposed to figure that stuff yourself? Hundreds of hours of grinding? No thanks.

I never had much of a problem with the final Dracula fight

Just use the Roc Wing to dodge his charge attack, then wait for the eyeball to fly past and whip it

If you're too aggressive, you're gonna get hit... a LOT
