I'm just about finished and the results are fantastic, I have to imagine it is much better than metal braces cutting the hell out of your gums and not being able to fully brush your teeth

Benefits, pros and cons? And what did you use it for?

My main issue was crowding, I didn't have any type of overbite, crossbite etc. I would get cavities because my teeth were so close together that food would get stuck, I wouldn't have to buy the super strong floss and even that would be completely shredded before I even got halfway done

Pros

-at this point it's not priced much higher than metal braces anymore, and most places will give you a discount as an adult because they trust you more to follow protocols than a kid

-instead of constant pain from metal braces it only hurts the first 2 days after switching aligners, and even then it's not constant just more so if you try to eat hard foods

- you can fully brush and floss your teeth after eating instead of trying to work around metal braces

-your gums will thank you as they won't be cut up at all

-Much more inconspicuous than metal braces

Cons

-They tend to take longer than metal braces

-you have to have impeccable dental hygiene as the aligners are going to prevent the saliva from reaching and cleaning your teeth

-some complex issues cannot be fixed by Invisalign

teeth were so close together that food would get stuck

About this specific point, isn't it the exact opposite? If your teeth are together how could food get stuck there, isn't it if the teeth are spaced further apart that food can get stuck there during chewing? I have a space issue between the left side of my teeth where I think the incisor and the cuspid have a wider space than the rest of my teeth on either side, and when I chew chicken or beef I sometimes get a piece of it stuck there which I need to floss out.

Also do you use oral b essential floss? That's the one I use and so far I haven't encountered any instance of shredding.
