So I see this guy selling Venus Fly traps. And hes got rules for them, as well as warnings. Very much like the dude from Gremlins when he sells Gizmo.

Anyway, in the rules section it says never to let the soil dry out. It should always be moist. Not mud but moist. In the warnings section it says dont give them tap water, well water, chlorinated water, water with minerals, or bottled water. So I ask, So, you basically have take these guys out every time it rains. And he says, No, you dont give them rain water. So, very confused, I ask, If I cant give them all these waters... and you also exclude rain water... what kind of water am
i supposed to give them? And instead of answering my question he just looked at me like: . With a look that says, Why are you being a smart ass? But I honestly wasnt.

So Im left with either peeing on them or sacrificing a cactus and spilling its water into the soil every time.

I had a venus fly trap plant when I was a kid

It lasted a hella long time, all it needed was sunlight it got from the window sill it was sitting on, the occasional fly and water

I didnt water it directly, rather it soaked up what it needed from a small amount placed onto a tray its pot was sitting on

Yeah. Like this poster said, dont water it directly. Mine was in a Tupperware, and the brown moss stuff soaks it up

Idk When I got mine, I got it from Amazon. And the person selling them had a video to explain everything. And even sent a care card to explain it
