I like how EMMI zones are basically places that add tension to the exploration. You have to figure out where to go, but you have to be smart while you do it.

I didnt think EMMIs would be a good successor to the SA-X but they do alright. Ive been killed by them more times than I care to count.

The checkpoint system is welcome for the EMMI zones, but really takes the tension out of being caught. Movement is _really_ good in this game. It's the best that Metroid has ever felt. However, the map is way too busy and cluttered. I want a simple map with fewer icons cluttering it.

I've pulled off many parries. It's less about timing and more about recognising attack postures. Thanks, Dark Souls.

I was gonna take a wild guess that the spoiler word was Morph Ball. Then when I quoted your comment it got unveiled. Lol

Yeah. I'm so frustrated, though. I see so many morph ball paths I want to go down, but can't yet. I just acquired the Wide Beam. I'm sure I will feel stronger among these tougher enemies I'm finding now.

I disagree. I just finished playing Super Metroid, and holding shoulder buttons to point the beam diagonally as you zoom through a corridor feels so much better in a lazy way than trying to do the same thing on this game with the complex controls. I still can't get the hang of a few things.

I cheesed the hell out of the Kraid boss fight. You can take advantage of the orbs his belly spits out that have health/ammo inside of them.

Just got the credits btw. My clear time was 6:40:44, my item rate was only 45% ;(

Theyre meant to be replayed as you discover more stuff on each playthrough. Notice how he only got 45% completion

I finally managed one today, but I'm also getting better at avoiding them. Exploration kinda opened up for me a bit, and I do love backtracking. I am hilariously slow at playing games.

He didn't actually beat the game in 6.5 hours. That time doesn't account for dying/reloading. It probably took 20 hours to get that 6.5 hour completion time. It would probably take more than 100 hours to 100% it, since all the remaining stuff will be harder to find.
