• Takes about 5 hours worth of content and stretches it to almost 40 by making you do the same shit over and over again
• The repeat playthrough differences are so minor that theyre not even worth suffering through for the story. Automata handled this so much better.
• Subjective, but the story didnt do much for me. It was like a rough draft of Automatas story, but without the thematic and philosophical elements that make it interesting.
• The combat is pretty bland and repetitive, and you can cheese nearly any enemy by throwing a single spear to knock them down and then using the finishing blow. When youre on your third playthrough, youll be doing this even if its repetitive just to speed things up
• Theres like 100 side quests, and maybe 10 worth doing. Most of them are just fetch quests, and/or send you across the entire map multiple times. I know its supposed to be a parody of other games, but its hardly a parody when youre just doing the same thing.

I really liked Automata, and Im glad I played that first because I would have never given it a chance had I suffered through this first. I should have stopped after the first ending, but I figured oh the next one will put everything into perspective and reform my entire opinion on the game! but bo, each one made me hate the game more. But, to give the game some credit, the music is phenomenal and the English voiceover is great, excluding Emil. I also really like Kain, she was the highlight of this game.

I was enjoying it but never got around to finishing my first playthrough. I got probably about 20ish hours in to it when it first came out but then got distracted by other games and never got around to jumping back in.

Maybe some day but not feeling much urge to right now

I hate that I feel compelled to play Ending E just so I can feel like I actually completed the game, even though I know it wont be worth it

Play the real version on 360, this new reimagining was them trying to catch Automata fanbase that never played the real one

Yeah Nier Replicant is pretty rough to play, especially if you're coming from Automata.

Side quests can be ignored, I didn't do a single one past the initial ones lol.

But yeah, repeating the 2nd half over and over really soured it for me. But the story is still excellent and Ending E is more structured like Nier in that it's an entirely different experience from most of the game. And it's fantastic.

I just wish they did more like they did with Automata, changed things up a bit.

As for story and characters...I'll just say I didn't give a shit about Automatas characters in comparison and leave it at that.
