I was hoping it would at least wait until my 50s or 60s. Life is finally looking amazing for me and I will be stripped of freedom soon. Just for being born wrong and having the gall to criticize Dear Leader Trump.

considering nobody is willing to take measures to actually address a lot of the problems plaguing the country, i sincerely doubt they're going to make much headway on that either. democrats only generally win either when republicans completely fuck up a campaign or if the country is going through a crisis, and the list of crises keeps growing every few years at this point

for anyone to be able to consolidate going forward they're going to need to radically change their party because the old strategies of placating the people the government is letting die are rapidly failing. and neither the same old "nothing will change" democrat platitudes nor the republican conspiracy stuff that's getting leaned on by them increasingly is going to have a lasting path to victory when the cards are really on the table

It's hard not to be depressed when one party is going full on fascist and the other party, which is our only hope in stopping them, is weak, incompetent, cowardly, has members who are so delusional that they think they can work together with the fascists, and has been infiltrated by spoilers who are being bribed. Plus there's the typical corruption issues and the "centrists/moderates" of the party who also hold back progress. How the hell can one not be full of despair over this?

I know it's easy to get stressed out about it now, but remember, in 3 years time more boomers will be gone and more terminally online greta thumberg types will be reaching voting age. Eventually it won't be possible for the crazy GOP people to get elected.

Also, the rona is hitting red states harder than blue ones. So Texas just might turn blue in 2024.

also, the voter fraud narrative actually helps us because the more red voters think it's rigged the less motivated they are to actually go out and vote. "What's the point if it's rigged anyway?" basically. So I'm all onboard with letting them believe it's rigged. :v

Join one of the dwindling organizations in this state that arrange medical care for people in the gap between ACA eligibility and poverty that have almost universally dried up and vanished due to no support from the state or the fed? Maybe I should go out and start paying people's student loans. Maybe I should donate to some of the more progressive members on the senate so they can pay for surgeries every time they get loaded into a cannon and shot into the ocean by chuck shumer whenever they suggest giving less money to violent ethnostates
