In the future if you need to buy from the store you need to use money you have transferred into your PSN account wallet, which you cant do on the ps3 with a credit card. Youll have to use a PS4, 5 or app to do so. Though you can still cash in vouchers through the PS3 store.

Yeah I never used my card on their store after that huge hack, but sucks for people who do. Thankfully it's better than their previous plan to just close it down entirely.

I bought most of what I still wanted during the last time it looked like the stores were coming down, so I don't have many left.

Yeah, I don't want to have to panic buy games on PS3 though, even if they'll still be available, I just have to buy them differently.

I wouldnt even know how to scour the store for things Id want to buy. I can only really find things Im already looking for there. Was thinking of getting Steins;Gate and I guess Im just gonna just in now.

Won't be long before they pull the store all together and we end up with a Nintendo situation that people can't play the games they have paid for.

This is why physical is best for Console and Digital is best for PC

They didn't realize people still were wanting to buy PS3 games I guess. Now they're trying to get people away from it by making it harder to buy stuff.

I definitely see this as an attempt to make it more acceptable to actuall do so later on. I doubt the PS3 store is sticking around another two years.

I have a feeling this is more about maintaining security. Sony may simply not want to worry about potential data breaches on a store platform from two generations back.
