All before any of them touched the ground, too. Bleach has some issues, but it delivers hype moments that stand among the best of the best.

My personal favorite moment in that arc is when Aizen catches Ichigo's sword with one finger. And the main character music stops dead in its tracks.

It's honestly a top tier series even with its problems. I love it, and I'm excited for the final anime arc.

It's a shame that's the last time Ichigo is truly presented as a powerful character without relying on going berserk.

His highest power level was during the fight with Aizen, and he was the calmest he had ever been.

IMO, they went away with his 2nd Hollow form way too fucking quick. That transformation was the coolest thing in the world, it even beats Gohan turning SSJ2.

It was a suicide move, though. Does it really count as Ichigo being presented as powerful if it's with an ability that halfway through the fight nearly kills him and "permanently" takes his powers away?

EDIT: and even in that fight, Urahara's trap is the thing that actually beat Aizen. Ichigo was on the ground about to be stabbed right before it went off. Even in that form, he STILL didn't actually beat the person he was facing.

I mean, no, he wasn't about to be stabbed. Aizen's zanpakuto literally crumbled away. And of course Ichigo didn't kill Aizen-- Aizen is absolutely immortal. Nothing can kill him.

And don't forget the next arc. Ichigo is just as beastly there as he is vs. Aizen. Still no berserk. He absolutely embarrassed Ginjo even after the guy stole a huge power boost from Ichigo. He only really goes berserk a couple of times in the series. His best showings (apart from the ulquiorra fight) are when he's calm and confident.

Ichigo didn't need the Final Gestuga/Mugetsu to beat Aizen, it was literally there just to make it the next arc plot. It was complete hax how meditating with his sword for 4 months made him transcend both soul reapers, hollows, and Aizen though.

The Squad 1 lieutenant is later confirmed to be Captain-level and has bankai.

Didn't they lose the rights for his theme like halfway through the anime, and that's why they started using only a bunch of vocal-less remixes of the music?

Hopefully they get it get for the new anime.

Kenpachi subconsciously mentally weakens himself to make his fights more fun. When he has a good fight, he subconsciously removes some of the mental "shackles." Ichigo was the first good fight he'd had in a long time.

Shortly thereafter he fights Tosen and Nnoitora.

It was three, but it was rather dumb. The vice captain of the 1st squad is supposed to be captain level. You find out in the final arc he has had bankai for like a thousand years or so.
