blogfaqs but whatever

Been having health issues dating back to April, when I had a sudden onset of severe nausea and a total lack of appetite. I assumed it was food poisoning, except it lingered for over a week. Talked to a doctor, tried some nausea medicine that did nothing, had a CT test done and learned I had liver disease. Since then, been having a lot of tests done to figure out what exactly is wrong with me, finally have an answer: gastritis for the nausea, and this steatohepatitis for the liver itself. Basically advanced fatty liver disease, scarring has started, the effects may be reversible but the disease itself is not.

So in addition to the general diet changes I've already been making, I'm now being told no sugar at all, no dairy at all, limit to 1600 calories per day (because clearly the issue is I'm still eating too much even with some days not being able to have more than a single meal and some snacking), 5000 steps per day. I have major concerns about this, especially the 1600 calories (I'm pretty sure with how big I am this is not feasible) and the dairy thing given that this doctor is known to loathe dairy products for whatever reason, so I'm going to be talking to my dietitian and general doctor this upcoming week for a second opinion on all this.

And for all this, there's still something that hasn't been answered that the doctors aren't touching on. I've been losing weight constantly through this. Yes, of course the lack of appetite plays a big role and offsets my lack of physical activity. But there have been some absolute crashes, the most notable being a loss of 13 pounds in the span of two and a half weeks. It seems to have stabilized for the time being, but it's still a concern that hasn't been sufficiently answered.

I dunno, I'm just frustrated by all this shit and am quickly hitting a feeling of wtf to even do now.

I am very sorry, TC.

why did this happen? I see really fat people in the street, to the point they need to move around in a scooter and they still dont get this.

I think you will pull through man, you got this

The root cause of this happening was that my previous poor diet and lack of exercise apparently led to insulin resistance, leading to my body not being able to metabolize right/fast enough. Or something along those lines, I only somewhat got the explanation for it.

Okay, talked to a dietitian today, at the very least she strongly disagrees with the 1600 calorie cap and the dairy restriction. So likely the hell with those. Fuck it, I've got this.

And thanks for the support there!

The damage being reversible is good at least. Remember the good things

I lost a lot of weight doing 2500 calories, 6k steps a day, and weight lifting 5 days a week. I'm a bigger dude and 2500 seems like the sweet spot. But I'm also talking out my fat ass
