apolloooo 10/04/21 7:32:41 AM #1:	It feels kinda like shenmue x harvest moon x animal crossing. You play as Naomi, a photographer from new york who is drowning in debt. She got a job to uncover the mystery of rainy woods in which is called "the happiest town in the world". The demo itself is really big (5 hours to do everything you can in there) and cover about 1 kilometer radius from town center. When you got to the area limit, narrator simply stops you. The gameplay loop seem to be earning money, and goung trough the main quests. There are tons of sidequests (at least a dozen in the demo) and what i like about them is the character exposition and interaction from the quests. They are basically fetch quests with photography, but the context and riddles puzzles makes it much better than your usual fetch quests. For example, there is a hotel manager who is paranoid about angel of death stalking him, and he always mistake scarecrows as grim reaper, so he ask you to take photos of scarecrows around town to make sure they arent grim reapers. Or you got challenged by the local alcoholic church pastor who calls himself "drinKING". The townspeople reminds me of something like majora's mask NPC or yakuza's subquests which is filled by the right amount of zanyness. Some of the sidequests also serve as tutorial for the more in-depth game mechanics such as cooking or foraging and better graps of photography mechanics. Aside from quests you earn money from uploading photos in instagram like apps. You can upload any photos and it will earn you money based on view counts. Each few days in game, the app will update the trending topics, for example antique furniture, so you search people's houses around town to find antiques, take photos and upload them, it will give a lot more views therefore more ad revenue. You build up followers and as the game goes you will earn more money. The main story revolve around the mystery of the town and why people can turn into cats or dogs. The demo covers the prologue, after you got your cat and dog transformation. There seem to be also a whodunit plot because the demo ended in a (this is already spoiled by the story trailer, but i will put a tag just in case) ~~murderof one of the townspeople.~~ so there are 2 main mystery that will be covered by the main game.
