I don't have any friends at college now between covid and my social anxiety. I mean I have my business plan group but that's just while in class we don't hang out afterwards. And covid worsened my anxiety such that it's really hard to just come to extra curricular on campus

Vacation does not fix depression. If it's clinical depression, especially, you can forget about it. It's a mood booster and can help you take your mind off things if you go with people, but it's far from fixing it when you get back to the real world.

Treatment for depression is going to a therapist, medicine, exercising, friends and family time, staying productive and doing the things that make you happy.

TC, do you have family support and have you been to a psychiatrist?

I think the most immediate thing you can do to feel better is to talk about it with someone you feel comfortable with in person, like family and close friends.

Find out what's making you depressed helps too, so you can work to get out of it. There's different kinds of depression though, especially clinical, which is chronic.

Definitely helps going to a psychiatrist to get it diagnosed and treatment options. Medication really does help. I went to a psychiatrist recently for another mental illness I know I have, and the medication helps a lot.

Other than that, making and staying on a consistent +productive routine helps a lot and gives you a sense of direction and purpose. Again also, makes you feel happy like exercise, hobbies l, spending time with friends and loved ones. As long as it's healthy too.

Finally you can push out the toxic people while not letting going of the people who do care about you and are willing to help. Never be ashamed to ask for help.

I am facing depression right now myself, and sometimes I feel like just sleeping half the day. I lost my dad earlier this year and I recently lost a job, and while I'm getting interviews I still feel the aftermath and feeling worthless. In the end, we have to reach out for help and not be afraid to open up to others. Of course you can ask and talk to me/us online too.
