They asked me to take pics of the damage on my vehicle. And that they have to have it be seen by a mechanic because sometimes theres damage that isnt seen.

I send them the photos, and they send me a check. But I doubt the amount they paid will be enough to cover the damages.

I dont understand what theyre doing. And my lawyer seems to only care about the personal injury side of this.

That's weird. They didn't send a an adjuster or a person to look at the car? Usually they have a list of body shops for you to take your car to that they work with and the bill gets sent directly to insurance.

What's the point of photos if a mechanic needs to look at it anyway

That's how any incidents that I've been involved with were handled. My fault, their fault, single vehicle and multi vehicle, all done the same way. Except for the list of approved shops. I have always had my choice of any shop. They made recommendations for who they hoped I would gotl to, but it wasn't required.

Thats what they said they were going to do. They even said, 90% of the time there is damage that is unseen. And then next thing I know Im getting a check for $500 more what they were prepared to pay me when they first called me(before even seeing any damage). My mechanic/auto body quoted me 4x higher than what they gave me.

Then insurance should be covering physio visits and damage to your vehicle, at least. And since physio doesnt necessarily have an end date, cutting a single cheque probably wont be enough.
