I laugh when all the people who hate pitbulls never seem to know the weak spots dogs have.

I guarantee that dog would be incapacitated or limping away depending in how hard I thought I needed to strike him.

I don't have a dog. Nor would I be taking an animal out on a walk. It would be reckless to get in the way of an animal fight though so I probably wouldn't physically interfere. If you love your pet, I can see why you would interfere but it isn't a logical choice.

i've seen footage of pitbulls still in attack mode with their literal guts/intestines hanging out. like i'd do my best but pretty sure my dog would be fucked and i would be seriously injured at best.

Do this only if youre legit being attacked. You will severely hurt this dog with any normal amount of force. Or potentially kill it.

I'll never own a pet, but if I did or my dog's life was in danger from an unprovoked attack from an aggressive, I will fight to kill if I have to if the owner isn't there to control it.

there's plenty of reasons. pets can be costly even if it's just a cat. spending at least 30-50$ a month on maintenance (not including vet bills)

myself i pay about 180$ a month without vet bills (she needs medication for her allergies and quality treats/good quality food).
dog easily covers the upkeep without issue on expenditures.

I actually did step in before. Was walking the family dog when another dog jumped the fence and went after my dog barking and stuff. So I stepped in front of my dog immediately (I'm sure he could have handled him though) the other dog was so confused it stopped in it's tracked and cocked it's head at me like "what are you doin?" The owner came and grabbed the dog apologizing and saying it was jsut wanting to play. Bullshit but whatever, so we just kept walking.
