Maybe something like Teen Titans would be appropriate for someone his age, my nephews are 8 and 6, and both are big into that right now, besides Avengers/Marvel popular characters.

...ya know. When I was 7, if my uncle came over for my birthday and said "Yeah man, I don't have a present but like we can head over to the library together and check you out a few comics books" I don't think I would ever take him up on that weird ass offer

I thought it was a good suggestion, our library here is lame but if I brought one of the nephews to the library I went to growing up, it would blow their mind and they'd have a blast looking through and checking out comic books. I think stuff like that shouldn't go away just because we have the internet now.

Getting a young kid something that doesnt line up with their interests is a quick trip down the awkward Geethanks. road where your gift is sure to end up, unused, in the garbage or in a closet.

If he isnt into comics or reading stuff thematically similar to comics, dont get him that. Just makes it awkward for everyone involved, parents included.
