Medussa 09/27/21 7:50:21 PM #3:	kinda, but i think it misses the real point. math builds upon itself, relentlessly. so, if you ever fall behind, while the classes keep moving and building, it gets harder and harder and harder to catch back up. but that's hard for a teacher to recognize and near impossible for a student. so nothing gets fixed, the student stays lost, and the lazy solution is to just blame it on a lack of interest or aptitude. --- Boom! I am pretty bad at math past arithmetic. I took one Algebra class in undergrad and one stats class. In grad school, I needed 9 more hours of methods and stats as part of a PHD. I flailed as washed out to a MA only. Funny thing is, I am now slightly competent at math. I went back to the pivot from arithmetic to algebra online. Tried getting better at the basics. Now I think I could be a solid math student. Never fast or an all star but certainly competent. It took going back to basics and going at my own pace without the stress of failure and nuking report cards or gpas. So I know what you say is right at least in my experiences. The homework meme here is right based on my experiences in over 20 years of school. --- You know how fads are. Today it's brains, tomorrow, pierced tongues.
