Youd think Rockstar would make a legitimate effort to shut these people out of their mod menus for numerous reasons but AFAIK these have been around since the start of online. Some of them just leave people alone which is whatever, but then you get the ones that come in to ruin lobbies:

• Spawning shopping carts just seems to be effective griefing - https://youtu.be/DcVNFKjuRfo
• Mass spamming chat advertising their discord to sell mod menus from
• Obvious godmode and killing people that cant fight back
• Multiple instances of the modder simultaneously blowing up everyone in the session no matter where they are on the map
• Sometimes they block the ability to start a Motorcycle Club or Securoserv, forcing you to jump to a new session if you want to do heist prep or certain missions with friends
• Ive heard of them having the ability to drain your in-game bank account somehow
• The most egregious thing happened last night. Was doing heist prep and everyone got blown up; I respawned in a shopping cart cage. Blew myself up by holding a grenade and I guess the modder didnt like that because he somehow forced my game to close.

Its really annoying how its basically inevitable that youre going to run into one of these guys that wants to ruin the game for everyone. Its to the point where Im wary of trying to pvp anyone just in case they turn out to be a modder that will make it their mission to ruin your night, just for daring to try to fight them in their godmode youd obviously know they had turned on.

I stopped playing after trying it only for a few weeks. They were annoying and one of them put weapons on me and I was told that people with hacked items are more likely to be banned than the people hacking the items onto them. I didn't care to keep playing at that point

This is why gamers need to demand TCP/IP mode, instead of being at the mercy of a "worldwide" server that can be hacked, griefed, overloaded, or shut down whenever the publisher feels like it.

I mean I heard the problem is actually that the lobbies are session-p2p based instead of rockstar-controlled servers. Also that mod menus exploit controls that rockstar put in the game and never bothered to patch out. Its ridiculous.

Last night a level 8000 joined our heist prep (for one of the basic ones because we havent done them yet). You can only get that level from modding. Dude was fucking clueless and if he didnt have god mode hed be an easy mark Id think. He just teleported to the airfield and started spamming those explosions modders can create. Then we failed the mission because he wouldnt leave the airfield when the game said to.

I started playing with my friends when it was free on epic a while ago. Like 5 of us started playing one got super into it.

He got banned for playing the game and they said he made money too quick. He played everything legit but just grinded missions efficiently. My other friend got a ton of money dropped by a hacker and nothing happened to him lol.

I stopped playing when I kept joining into lobbies where I'd have to do missions where the lobby could interfere and I'd get blown up randomly from hackers.

Wasn't there a big ruckus some years ago when R* did ban modding, but also killed single player modding in the process, and so people who never played online became rightfully mad and R* had to undo the damage they had done?

I havent run into many people that grief me when Im doing missions. I think most people appreciate that running heists can be a grind

I thought they exclusively targeted single player modding because they thought it cut into their shark card earnings

I thought they tried and neckbeards complained that they were taking modding away or something?

A modder gave me a bunch of glitch weapons that I cant remove from my inventory. Why is Rockstar not fixed this?

Yeah I also would get some cage locked around me and then the explosion spam happened. It was fun until it was all bullshit :(

They've been around since the start of the game. I had made hundreds of millions off challenges and was being given hundreds of millions for bounties and just given the money several times from modders. Rockstar cracked down hard on that, took everyones money away that was involved and left me with like $300,000. Sucked.

Well Im sure the money drops would be even more useful now given how much expensive shit there is to buy. I finally finished linking up all businesses to my nightclub and I dont feel like Im even close to being done with having to grind.

Id suspect that Rockstar patched out money drops because I havent seen those happen at all. Its something thatd directly hamper their shark card sales.

So Im on a quest to get rid of these pistols the modder gave me at the very least because it makes selecting the AP Pistol while driving (the best driving weapon) more of a pain as you cant use the normal weapon wheel. So far I got the navy revolver (and am holding onto it to get the $250k for killing 50 people with it)

I still have to acquire the double barrel revolver too. Not sure how to get rid of the other weapons as I cant buy them from Ammunation to own them, so they cant be dropped.

I haven't played in a few years. I was around for that whole DNS exploit thing and got a stern warning lol. that was my first and last time doing anything like that for any game, though. was fun killing a bounty and hundreds of thousands lol.

I played for another couple years after that before moving on.

I used to have a mod menu but I let the sub expire. I only played by myself and I never griefed anyone. The menu I had broke the game so much that I couldn't use it, the game would be fine for 10 minutes and then the game would crash. I just wanted to play the new DLC that came out with the underground racing but it was unplayable for me.

I mainly dislike how grindy it feels. I could just endlessly set up Cayo Perico for easy money but that takes like an hour. Sometimes the payout is shit because you get the tequila or necklace as a main target, and the cocaine (2nd best thing to fill your bag with) doesnt show up at the quick and easy escape route (the airstrip and north dock take too long to hit Elite challenge so thats an extra $100k you lose). The gold is only available if you run the heist with another player, which is the best secondary target to fill your bag with. But then you have to split the cut instead of getting 100%.
