You can keep on making Cow levels even after killing the Cow King. I did it for normals at least.

At least Im high enough to farm NM now, and some stuff in hell. Maybe through act 3.

Only manald heal... still better than old rings though so using it for now.

Gonna do meph today. Game crashed last night and I decided not to play more, but no progress lost because I just finished act 3 tome quest and alrrady had travincal waypoint. Expecting meph to be easier than duriel (got 75 on both lightning and cold res and iirc most of his attacks are those) but also didn't grind at all. Probably going to only be a few levels higher. Council members should be interesting. The sparking one wqs always annoying but this time lightning res. I remember one of them was called something dragonhand or dragondick or something and was annoying but I can't remember what properties that one has.

My brother got hung up on diablo and tpok a break, so I might pass him today, though I expect to get hung up on diablo also. Gonna have to look for more fire res shit (gonna keep weapon I found in act 1 for lightning res, so his zappy attack should be survivable)

If youre interested, theres a really easy way to cheese/bug the meph fight

i cant remember the exact layout of his area, but this should help. Basically if you stand far enough back while casting, he wont cast back. And you have this impassible area between you, the moat thing.



aggro him, run back to X, start blasting.

Lightning is not viable till you get the most expensive item in the the game: infinity

The best build is either dedicated cold sorc using blizzard who farms specific areas without cold immune, or a fire ice hybrid that combines frozen orb and a fire spell usually meteor or fireball. You won't do as much dmg as pure cold but can farm more areas

Yeah, in Hell, basically every mob is immune to at least one thing.

Yeah thats what my buddy is running. His fire doesnt do a ton of damage, but definitely better than us both running pure ice.

Meph wasn't bad, just annoying and I ran out of corpses for skeletons. Should have switched back to decrep from amp damage but didn't think of it ubtil the end. Was never in any real danger though. Council members with liches were more annoying. I had no corpses for meph because I lost so many skeletons on them lol, between the liches firewalling and council member hydras.

Kind of want to make a Charger Pally again. I remember my damage and AR being ridiculous on that. Though I still had trouble hitting other players for some reason, but when I did, they would just explode.

I heard theres a thing in Diablo 4 where if you PK a lot you get marked and people know where to find you in the world.

I would have dipped before he got the chance to kill me

IIRC he has the biggest, or one of the biggest, health pools in the game.

Ive already hit a wall in my offline NM act 2 run

Im in tal rashas tomb, I die quickly, and my act 2 NM merc does way more damage than me

Upgrade your weapon for sure. Malice is not a bad runeword, but once you're in Nightmare, you could find some better yellows or weapon bases. Elemental damage does go a long way, so keep your eyes out for some of those affixes.

Probably, but I would look at your character's damage stat and compare it to your previous weapon, just to make sure.

Holy fuck diablo down and once again no deaths. Had to run away a dozen or so times and and waypoint back to act 1 to re-skeleton but eventually managed to whittle his health down enough so that merc could finish him while I spammed golemd and decrepify. Never beat him no death before and I think this is probably the lowest level I've ever beat him at (28)

Going to try again and see how far I get before another glitch ruins my play through. Im going with a Hammer based Paladin this time. Any tips? I have some decent gear like a Spirit Crystal Sword, a Lore helm, a Stealth chest, a Ravenfrost, and a Rhyme shield for it once hes high enough level. What skill should I prioritize first? I know Blessed Hammer, Concentration, Blesses Aim and Vigor are all important.

you should prioritize making another spirit item for your shield

you need hit the fcr break point for paladin for hamemrs to feel snappy and feel good in close range combat imo. make sure to get fcr ammy, fcr rings, and fcr gloves.

Thanks. Any suggested base for a base for it? Do all Paladin shields have resists? And should I use my socket craft reward for it or try and get it to drop?

it is really easy to get the runes from countess runs, i wouldnt spend too much time focusing on finding a great shell. great shells are hard to get and worth far more than the runes

i think the best shields though are the elite targes in hell because they have high base all res

just craft a shield as soon possible. i just went with the big blue tower shields in act 5. i think mine had 30 all res or something on it
