Islam isn't a monoloth. In fact, a significant source of conflict in the middle east are different sects of Islam trying to wipe out the other sects for being the wrong kind of Muslim. Uyghurs are Sunni, so countries like Egypt and Turkey would be more aligned with them, whereas Iran is Shia.

As an anecdotal example, Iran hardliners think China is doing god's work:

Meanwhile, Mehdi Hassanzadeh, the economic editor of hardliner daily newspaper Khorassan also addressed Motahari in a tweet and said that "The Chinese government has a problem with Wahabi Takfiri Muslims which is a hardline brand of Saudi-backed Islam, otherwise, China has no problem with Islam.

As an example, the research unit of the Iranian state-owned television's external services said in a December 2016 report about the Chinese government's attitude toward Muslims in that country: "There are good Muslims and bad Muslims in China. The problems about Muslims in China have their roots in the pro-Saudi radical policies that follow radical Wahabi and Takfiri ideology."

Conversely, Turkey has actively brought it up as an issue with China:

The other side of this is that China has a lot of money and many of these countries have none, so they've been heavily pressured to keep their mouths shut in exchange for financial support:

I don't see this going on long without some sort of turmoil. With the behavior being similar to that of the nation I wouldn't be surprised by a small Asian War/conflict with no nukes involved.
