"How can you accept what might be an additional $20 per year, or ALMOST TWO whole dollars per month for an excellent library of N64 titles you can easily play with mobility, when instead, you could just break the law? I don't understand how these people keep supporting Nintendo's rabid anti-consumer practices!!"

Because people should have to keep giving Nintendo money every generation when they want to play Super Mario 64.

I'm not even anti-Nintendo. I simply don't think it's worth the cost. Doesn't mean I'll pirate the games myself, but I can kinda understand those who would rather do so.

Nintendo's taking the piss charging for an Online service that barely works in the first place
All the console vendors seem to have a paid-online ratio of 30-something percent, and no amount of "freebies" seems to be able to kick it any higher.
If anything, Nintendo is copying XBL's Gamepass, but just can't bring itself to include anything from the last couple decades.

Tbh $40 for a year for all those games isn't that bad. Plus you can share across multiple accounts.

If Nintendo made their own GamePass with games from the NES to today, it could easily be the best deal in gaming.

But that would require Nintendo to have online infrastructure that isnt total shit.

Honestly NSO isn't expensive at all, and it's actually really nice to price tier perks if you only care about online. If I could pay $20 for XBL and PSN and forego the monthly games I probably would.

I'd rather have something the other way around, where I get a regular feed of games, without paying for online play that I never bother with.

Yes, ideally Nintendo would decouple the services and sell subscriptions on a per system basis imo. Reduce the price online, charge individually for a system, include a bundle deal for all systems at a reduced price.

If I had any faith at all that they would actually put games on there that people would be interested in playing, it may be a different story. As it stands, their library of 'free' NES and SNES games on the Switch is absolutely laughable. They'll do the same thing they did with those, have a few great titles when they launch the service and then put in a bunch of games over the next few years that no one has ever heard of.

There's zero reason virtual console purchases should not move over to Switch.... except that Nintendo realized that they can get people to subscribe to this service and make them pay for games that they've already purchased, in perpetuity.

MS and Nintendo buddying up on gamepass would drive Sony out of the industry entirely.

Ding ding ding

Thus "piracy" in this case is ethical and actually not even piracy... you already own the game.
