Currently at a restaurant. They serve water thusly:

Metal cups are pre-set at the table, and water is brought to you via a closed plastic pitcher. The cup is room temperature, presumably. The water itself is chilled, but purely liquid.

However, put the water in the cup, the water freezes. Wtf happened

the water in the bottle may have been supercooled

but its more likely due to the cups ancient magics

Im no botanist, but its probably the lead in the water reacting to the cold formed steel cup
