TLoU is one of my favorite games, but I felt like TLoU2 was better in every way...except when it came to the likeability of its characters.

nah, I mean in TLoU, you got to see these characters bond and improve, but in TLoU2, they would damage relationships/devolve because they were full of hate, and revenge meant more to them than anything else.

I think it made for a great story, but it's hard to root for a mass murderer.

I hate that ellie was basically by herself most of the game missed the joel aspect

That may have been very intentional. To make the player feel some sense of loss, or thinking somethings off.

I think Part 1 was better overall, mostly due to the pacing issues of Part 2. That, and the fact that Part 1 has Factions multiplayer FACTIONS 2 WHEN NAUGHTY DOG?!.

But thats not to say I dislike Part 2. On the contrary, I think that aside from the pacing of the plot, its a masterpiece.
