IF all the money you made after a certain point was taken away, that is... Which can be bad for some people depending on what that business is...
Orrr...they might choose to keep the wealth in the company by paying employees more. In the big picture: don't just accumulate all of society's wealth in a handful of people...I promise that won't end well. If the cap is chosen thoughtfully I'm sure entrepreneurs will still try to make it big. It might restrict super goliath companies, but - per adjl again - that's probably a net benefit.

what if after a certain point its more like you can use 75% for whatever but 25% is taxed, and as you make increasingly more millions/billions that tax rate steadily goes up until it reaches a cap

thats how it used to work in the US, pretty effectively

Sure, it can be phased or whatever. Details. :) Still, I think it needs to be pointed towards wealth as opposed to income. IIRC Bezos' salary is only $80K per year. But yeah, again, I know there are some very real impracticalities.

It depends on how the money gets taken from people. If it gets taken from the company money before they split it between the CEO and employees, then it becomes harder to pay people more. If the money is taken after splitting it, then that could work If the CEO even cares about that And maybe the entrepreneur will try to make it big, as long as making it big means they can actually keep most of the money they make instead of it being forced away form them

Also, I think you meant to quote Mead in the second quote

Depends on the business... Without a reason to go past the cap, some places might even shutdown for a certain period if they basically didn't make any money past a certain point. Because at that point, there's no point in working for free... IF all the money you made after a certain point was taken away, that is... Which can be bad for some people depending on what that business is...

Realistically, you'll either see the company pay structure set up to account for the cap, or you'll see companies being sold as their owners reach a point where they can't make any more money from them and retire. There may be a small handful of companies that do outright shutter as soon as the CEO makes their money, but it's generally going to be more quickly profitable to sell than to do that, and executive-level employees that have significant bargaining power aren't going to sign on to companies that don't have contracts in place to prevent that.

Would that dramatically shake up the system as it stands now? Absolutely, and I don't doubt that some harm would arise as the kinks were sorted out. But in the long run, you get considerably less concentration of wealth (and therefore power) and fewer monopolies, which is ultimately a good thing.

The problem is the harm that arises, though...

It's not like there's any shortage of harm under the current paradigm.

Sure. I guess it depends on which harm you can deal with

dude you are always way too eager to try to find some sexist angle to everything

stop acting so persecuted and you might stop feeling that way too

That's because it is. In the news you always hear about men being bad or lazy.
The article in the OP are specifically targeting working age men for example.
There exist without doubt "lazy working age women" who don't want to have a job as well. Why aren't these also mentioned in media?

Articles like this makes it seem like only men are being lazy, and isn't it sexist to only accuse men of one thing when there are also women out there being guilty of the exact same thing?

And instead of accusing working age men for being lazy, why not try to investigate Why they're being "lazy"?
Depression is rampant across the world, maybe they're just unmotivated to find a job because they feel like the system is against them?

When men are bringing these issues up, they always get told to stop bitching and be quiet because we should just believe women have it worse in every way imaginable.

BOTH men and women have problems in society and that's a fact, but men should also be able to bring up problems that affect them and people to listen to them.

Just like now when I just asked how the article didn't even mention women, I was immediately jumped on for bitching.
Articles like these should be gender-neutral.

Sexist rant

This is just one about males. No one is saying women cant be lazy, as well But they most likely have very different ways of making money without working (even though these! guys are working) than men. Which means that the article technically isnt really calling them all lazy. Because they are literally working. Harder is many cases Like Mead said, stop acting so persecuted, and you might stop feeling that way

That wouldnt work because, like I said above, men and women probably have different top ways for making money when not working

Yes I'm being sexist for bringing up how anti-male everything is nowadays.

Clearly it's the men who are the privileged ones when they can't even talk about the issues they face.

Yes it seems that way because main stream media never brings it up.

Of course it seems like women have it so horrible compared to men because that's what you always hear about.
Both men and women have pros and cons in life.

Yes, women and children have it really bad in the middle east but that doesn't mean there aren't any men suffering from the situation as well.

https://news.un.org/en/story/2021/07/1096382

Over 54% of casualties in Afghanistan has been males, and women were at 14% and children at 32%.

Yes I know my English isn't the best(not a native English speaker) but I feel like someone has to talk about it when most aren't.
I'm tired of media constantly vilifying men for little reason.
Men have problems that most people don't give a shit about. Even other men doesn't care about men's problems.

Instead of saying bad things about each other we should try to support eachother so that we all can have a chance of a decent life.

I would like to see humanity achieve true equality one day by not excluding anyone.
Both men and women, of all races and sexualites needs to help eachother with their respective issues and not vilify anyone without reason.

People vilify both men and women all the time. Just about different things. You seem to ONLY focus on when they vilify men, though Men do care about other mens problem. Usually their friends problem rather than a random person, though

And youre acting like all men have horrible lives, which isnt true. Men do support each other. If you cant see that, I dont know what rock youre living under

Youre acting like men go the shitty end of the stick when talking about equality. But tbh, we are definitely doing much better than women in some cases. The problem youre having is only seeing one side of things. Thats why your post come off as sexist. You only see the media saying men bad and women good, but thats on you. The media has said good and bad things about both men and women. And you it seeing it is a you problem
