On topic, there are too many of these stories for me to be angry, amused, or even sad. It really just is what it is. These people have access to a vaccine, but I don't have the tools to convince them to get it. Respect to the people that keep trying though.

You can both be angry that their deaths are being mocked and angry that so many are refusing to get vaccinated. Why do you think someone upset at the mocking doesn't want people getting vaccinated? Also, expressing anger at an anti vaxxer has never really shown to work. All you can really do is be patient and very calmly attempt to inform them as much as you can.

That is just the reality of it.

Like yeah I get that the unvaxxed are pretty ignorant and very difficult to talk to. The reality still stands that people dying from covid is not at all a good thing. Dunking on these people is just stupid.

Holy crap you need to relax. I never said you should coddle anti vaxxers and treat them like snowflakes. The reality is that if you want someone to listen then you need to calmly explain. That is all that could be done to help. Well that and them actually experiencing a real covid health scare or someone close to them dying. That unfortunately has been effective in getting the vaccine hesitant to get the shot.

I never ever said crapping on anti vaxxers is comparable to being an anti vaxxer. Just because one action is worse (being anti vax) doesn't mean you totally get a pass for the other action (crapping on anti vaxxers).

I totally understand the anger at anti vaxxers, but calling them murderers is very hyperbolic and just not helpful. Just block them on FB and don't interact with them elsewhere.

There is a way to fight misinformation and being aggressive just has never shown itself to be an effective tool. That is all this comes down to.

I never said ghoulish. It's not about being compared to anti vaxxers. This is about the reality that yelling and screaming at them, calling them murderous, or any other sort of aggression simply does not help.

If your stance is that you want increased vaccination rates then please at least don't interact with these individuals on these issues. If you have your feelings then don't act on it then that is all good. You don't need to make some grand gesture of compassion. Just be a little calm about stating your stance.

I say fair game for vaccine mandates and passports. You should still try to do what you can to minimize spread. I'm in favor of a lot of covid prevention policies. Policies can do a lot to minimize what damage the unvaxxed can do.

It's just that when this issue, among others, gets broken down to a conversational level then you need to keep it at the conversational level and not shouting.

Hundreds of thousands if not millions of doctors say get the vaccine. It is safe. Research shows this. Death rates and covid spikes down south prove this.
