yea, a few years ago.

my cat was about 19 and was having issues with her kidneys, and she was really suffering.

I regret not staying with her as they put her down.

Yeah, it's terrible but I'm not about to just drop them off and let them be alone and scared.

I put a cat down because he kept having kidney problems. I hated that fucking cat, and it was still one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

Yeah, it's rough. But really the best thing to do if they're suffering, old and often have no hope of recovery, and severely diminished quality of life.

No. My pets tend to be birds, which as a general rule, if you can actually make it to the vet between when symptoms show and when they die from it, they were probably going to recover on their own anyway and you're just helping them recover more quickly.

I will have to soon. One of our cats has a massive tumor, and has had removals twice already. Not looking forward to having to decide when to make the call.

Yea, in 2018, my cat. She had a regular cough that wouldn't stop, and after months of testing (and a couple different vets), found out she had cancer. Tried to prolong it as long as I could, but finally came to terms that she had to be put down when nothing changed. She was also on the verge of being 16 years old, so, she at least had a good life.

Tried to spoil her as much as I could during her final weekend, but considering she wouldn't even eat, couldn't do much other than to hold her the entire time. Her whines as I brought her in were heartbreaking. They were a little busy when I brought her in, and I technically didn't have an appointment (I had called the Saturday before implying my intentions if she didn't improve, but never scheduled anything), but they were able to get me a room. Probably held her for good 15 minutes after the injection.

Was a good vet though, a couple weeks later, I actually got a package from them that had a copy of her footprint in some plaster.

I've had many cats all my life, so yeah.

The last one was almost two years and I haven't gotten over it and don't know if I will. Once the two cats I have go, I don't think I want anymore pets. Ember ruined me.

Yes, twice. First dog in 2006, second dog in 2018. Loved those dogs. They were the best.
