The perfect combination of events taking you by surprise but also seeming obvious in retrospect. I knew something was up with Truman as soon as Ford said it was a mistake to put his brain back together. But it simply never occurred to me that someone had simply did a brain swap with him. Despite literally doing the same thing with Nick's body who ends up being the actual villain.

Then as soon as that reveal happens it doesn't feel out of left field at all. Oh that was why his body was being mailed to Truman. He was trying to smuggle himself into the office. Then you realize that it wasn't even really Truman that was rescued in Rhombus of Ruin. Oh and his name wasn't Nick Johnsmith because he was boring. It's because it was a fake name.

Nona being Maligula was also pretty good. The head shape being an obvious clue although I'm not if there more. But it really fleshes out Ford Cruller in a way that was pretty unexpected.

Damn what a great game and series. I think it's easily the best story I've played in a 3D platformer although it's not like the competition is strong.

I called Truman having the "wrong brain" as soon as he would talk to Raz but nobody else, insisted it be kept a secret, and didn't understand what his Psychonaut authentication card thing was. Although that last part doesn't really make sense in retrospect given that Nick was an employee there.

But I thought that would be the twist, and the bit about Nona really surprised me. I don't think it was out of left field per se but it definitely didn't strike me as obvious.

I loved the game, but I don't think the ending hit the emotional height the first one did. Maligula, as in "the primal survival instinct of the brain", was a lot more abstract a villain compared to the meat circus hitting hard with the trauma of child abuse.

Yeah the emotional height was definitely the reunion of the OG Psychonauts after dealing with all their trauma.

All of that was just done so well. I loved the symbolism of Boole's harshest critics being puppets that he was controlling. What a smart way to visualize something we've all done to ourselves.

He never intended for anyone to find his body right? Probably still had it on him as it was where he lived outside of the HQ.
