I try to be healthy, but I dont have access to boomer medical insurance and I was denied Obamacare, so I cant easily go in for tests because they cost thousands of dollars. I try to eat well and get exercise. I quit smoking years ago and my five-year sober date was last Saturday (9/11). With that said, I really struggled with substance abuse for years and Im extremely concerned that I may have done some harm to my liver/kidneys. I dont have any signs of problems with them, but I still worry. I would like to think that within five years of sobriety I would have noticed it if something was off. My moms side of the family often lives to late 80s or early 90s. My dad always claims that his family doesnt live past 70 (which is how old he is), but hes literally the only one who doesnt drink, smoke, and take painkillers.
