MGS2, MGS3 and 1 were still good though. I just found MGS2 more creative and thought provoking

Either MGS2 or MGS1. I voted MGS2 due to how relatable the entire plot is in today's world of misinformation and missing context.

MGS3 was my favourite overall, but the story has logical flaws. I'm still not sure why you need to kill The Boss to prove America's innocence. I also don't see the strategic advantage of the Shagohod, at least the Metal Gears had some significant combat ability. The Shagohod was just a good tank with the ability to launch an ICBM.

Mgs2. Misimformation in the digital and ai overlords, imo, was the best storyline.

MGS2 is a masterpiece. This video is 35 minutes long but does a pretty great job explaining why.

I couldn't really follow the mgsv story given how disjointed it all felt. I think there was something there with the language virus and all that but it lacked the cohesive story telling the other metal gears had.

3 by a long shot.

1 good.

2 was good.

3 was amazing.

4 was nanomachines. The answer to everything was nanomachines. The supernatural apparently never existed in MGS, it was all nanomachies.

5: Actually, supernatural stuff was real all along, and was the root cause of everything.

Metal Gear Rising's story was nothing complex but filled the space with interesting over the top characters, with a far better conclusion to the character stories then MGS4. Also, if you listen to the codec conversations, they put a surprising amount of work into the lore building so the world Rising takes place in makes sense.

MGS5 made Big Boss boring for the sake of an uninteresting twist that in no way made the rest of the boring story less boring. Like, they went out of their way to remove the codec conversations that gave everyone interesting personalities because apparently they heard western players didn't like them or something.

the codec conversations in 4 were really annoying and in the other games they take up like the majority of the time you spend playing those games lol

3 because it was largely self contained and didn't feel like it was trying to tie up over 100 loose ends from one of the other games.

I'm still salty about 5 tbh

I loved 4. Loved it. I think its aged poorly and criticisms of it are valid, but at the time when it released I absolutely enjoyed the experience immensely.

and Ive got nothing but fond memories of peace walker honestly. The plot feels more detached or episode in a bottle from the other titles and its told a strange way cinematically, but Id say the gameplay is the second best in the series behind MGSV and with almost as much replayabilty, something that both games have a tremendous depth of

probably doesn't make sense in a foreign policy manner but i can't think of any other way of proving they had nothing to do with the American supplier of the nuclear weapon used on them during the cold war. although the life of one admittedly very talented and dedicated soldier seems pretty negligible considering the circumstances

this adds a little more nuance to the plot point https://bit.ly/3tYvxWD
