Rotts and Mastiffs have a much higher chance of actually killing you. Theres a reason why they used Mastiffs during war, and not Pitbulls (yes, rotts were even used during WW2)

Also its an easy dog-whistle to be racist against black people with. Most people associate Pitbulls with black people, so it gives them an out to shit on black people without being overtly racist. Plus the way they seem to go out of their way to find news articles about it is insane sometimes.

TL;DR, most pitbull haters just really hate black people

If the vehicle driving by had hit it, I wouldn't have cared after that attack.

Say, why don't we have like, mandatory shock collars or something for these types of dogs? You know, so the owner can press the button and use a dangerous to dogs level of voltage to incapacitate them? Or would that not work on some of them when they're in a frenzy?

This is getting ridiculous, should definitely require people to get a license to own a pitbull. I own one, she's disciplined and never hurt anyone, but too many people out there who clearly don't know what they're doing with their dog.

So you're suggesting that there's bogus accusations of dog bites launched against pitbulls, and that dog bites in other breeds are underreported, as well as some set of financial incentives for dog pounds to lock up innocent dogs? Do pitbulls face increased difficulty when seeking employment, as well as having to deal with the lingering effects of generations of policies meant to keep pitbulls out of more wealthy, insulated white neighborhoods? And have pitbulls faced breed animosity from others simply for existing in public spaces, for instance by having people follow them around the store?

Because uh. The answer should probably be no to all of those except the under reported one.

The big issue is you need it to be accessible, so a folding blade isn't a good idea. Make sure not to run with earphones either, so you're more aware.

I got chased by a dog twice during high school track and field, and cross country. Once the owner was right nearby so after I got far enough away the owner's calls worked in getting it to back off. The other time, just. Ugh.
