i think im pretty average, there are things i excel at, things im terrible at, things that i understand but lack the mechanical or technical skill to replicate......all in all, i think im completely average.

i feel like "above average" is gonna get a lot of votes though cause of dunning kruger effect lol

Pretty much went from being a neet of 12 years to getting a job that I'm set for life in by lying and just manipulating people.
Same with people who annoy me I just convince them to leave/have them look bad so management won't hire them back.

IT support
Started by convincing a chartiy that helps people get jobs that I have had 'years' of volunteering teaching people to use computers and worked in a local internet cafe before it shut down and the owner left for his home country and convinced them they needed to start up a 'using computers for beginners' to help them with the fact they had issues with jobseekers not being good on computesr.

From there I got a 'proper' job being the sysadmin for a small charity reporting to the CEO
Decided to go for a bigger salary and doubled it in a private business but quit after about a year because fuck on call
Now back down to public salary again working as a sysadmin in a top 20 school which is shit pay but nobody questions me, if they do it's literally 'well I've discussed it with the principal and he's pushing for this so... we're doing it'.
Of course the person I replace was a massive fuck up and most likely stolen thousands of equipment since it's only recently appeared that we're missing about 300 laptops that never actually existed in my mind because they were missing from when I started.

it also helps if you're actually good at your job

Oh I know it's toxic but I don't particularly care. The sad fact of the matter is if you don't trust me blindly then I can't manipulate you so you have to be dealt with. Either I'll start finding out what people dislike you and start pushing for them to complain to upper management or I'll just convince you to leave.
or worse case scenario I'll just track everything you're doing wrong with your job and make an anonymous tip to upper management with the reasons why it's wrong and how to prevent it

Tho I only did the latter once because she sided with some dude who was like in his 50s and kept telling one of the women on the course that her daughter was hot. Her daughter was 16.

So the first job I made up about the internet cafe, I explain that apparently he was in some trouble with some drug dealers and he just left the country.
That's over 10 years ago. You can't literally track that as I explain 'at the time I was still taking care of a family member who was sick and couldn't afford rent so I would get paid under the table (eg not taxed so illegal)'. This helps establish the owner of the internet cafe was most likely into illegal shit.

From there I continue explaining 'sick family member, repaired local computers, did some teaching for people with computers' which helped get me the first job as they needed a teacher for people that weren't good with computers and of course becuase I couldn't get unemployment because I was able to work but 'couldn't work since I was taking care of a sick family member' people take pity on you.

Every job since the first one I've actually had. I've just lied a lot about my experience. But I'm incredibly good with people and they will write whatever letter I want. It helps if you feign having imposter syndrome and high anxiety so people are more likely to pity you.

One of the work moms recommended it to me after I told her to record the conversation with the principal about her contract.

I get the general idea of he book form reading about it but ultimately 99% of what I know/do can be summed up as 'people are stupid and want to trust you'.
It's why you ignore red flags. It's why when a partner is cheating you can be so deluded to blame yourself for it. People want to see and believe there is good in the world. Which there is. It's just an option to take advantage of it.

I considered myself slightly above average but after the last few years realizing how fucking stupid average actually is, I consider myself a genius.
