How did they decide to bring half the people back without consulting with the rest of the universe or knowing their circumstances or even considering if people on Earth could handle it?

I don't see how it wasn't self-absorbed and selfish.

What if places out there adjusted in good ways and were doing better now without that many extra people? Maybe they become greater from the tragedy?

Nope, fuck that. Here's half the people back. Courtesy of the Avengers from Earth.

I get that they were all demoralized and depressed and felt they failed them.

But 5 years is a little too long to be making such insane changes to the universe and willy nilly returning trillions and quadrillions of people back without considering the possibility of some terrible consequences.

I don't see how it's any less crazier than one dude deciding for the entire universe that he's gonna wipe half out.

I'm sure many of those that were snapped appreciate that the Avengers didn't go through a universe-scale survey before deciding if their lives were worth bringing back or not.

They were compelled to by powers that were beyond their control. Spiderman and Dr Strange had two more movies to make.

Of course those snapped would be appreciative.

But this is more about the universe moving on, and then introducing a giant influx of people 5 years later. That's catastrophic stuff. Especially when there's probably been population growth in that 5 years too.

That's gonna cause severe problems. If it happened IRL, there would be world ending chaos. It's one thing if it was weeks or months. But after so much adjustment?

Lol, I know that's the actual answer, but I was just asking in terms of within the MCU itself.

To be fair those are both compelling reasons. Both are ripe for stories.
