Other than that Cooking Mama game on Switch that was rumoured to be a massive bitcoin mining scam, I can't think of anything like this that's happened before. The result is your computer ran fine until you shut down, then suddenly windows couldn't boot again. The only fix was to find out and fix it before shutting down the computer. Titanfall 2 seems like a pretty random game to target, haha. Not exactly the same, but with Warcraft 3 people found out that you could store and retrieve data in a way Blizzard didn't intend, and it was used to make more advanced custom map scripting. Years later, someone found a way to use this to do arbitrary code execution. I didn't hear much about people getting hacked this way, but Blizzard immediately patched the game, breaking a ton of custom maps, but they added a new system to handle similar scripting stuff. --- Want some rye?
