There have apparently been over 2000 covid variants logged on this web site, and it shows the trend of total sequenced infections by % over time.

The Mu variant was 4% of infections in North America in June and July, but 2% to 1% in August, so hopefully that means the Mu variant won't become a new dominant strain.
