iirc it was season 7 that started out promising/pretty good before taking a nosedive in the last few episodes

I thought Seasons 5 and 6 were both fine. Voted 6 because I liked Edward James Olmos and Colin Hanks as the villains (even if the big twist was kind of predictable).
