But nah, plenty of these folks will live the rest of their lives convinced they were right.

You do realize the vaccine is not some miracle cure-it-all preventable tool, right?

People that are vaccinated are STILL getting infected. In fact the Pfizer dose which most people took only have a 40% effectiveness against the Delta variant.

And this virus will keep on evolving. So what the hell is the point? We're just expending $$$ after $$$ trying to fight a virus that'll keep evolving anyway.

God you sound you ignorant....

The numbers will stabilize eventually after a peak.
Go look at India's case numbers for a grand example of this. Or yknow, USA itself.

And after this peak, the curve will flatten on its own. Yes, there'll still be a constant rate of people being sent to the ICU, but we can just adapt to accomodate those many people. Eventually the virus will kill itself out and become less of a threat

Israel had the highest vaccinated status proportion in the country and they STILL ended up with an enormous covid-19 infection spike.

Why? Because the vaccine's effectiveness dropped over time and most of the citizens were using Pfizer, not Moderna (which has a much higher effectiveness against Delta).

I'm literally just googling the FIRST FEW search results here dude. Seriously do you even read t he news

https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-02261-8
The results, published in a preprint on 19 August1, suggest that both vaccines are effective against Delta after two doses, but that the protection they offer wanes with time.

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-021-03777-9
The journal Nature reflected the findings that a single shot of a two-dose vaccine such as Pfizer-BioNTech or AstraZeneca provided barely any protection.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/07/23/delta-variant-pfizer-covid-vaccine-39percent-effective-in-israel-prevents-severe-illness.html
Pfizer and BioNTechs Covid-19 vaccine is just 39% effective in Israel where the delta variant is the dominant strain, but still provides strong protection against severe illness and hospitalization, according to a new report from the countrys Health Ministry.

Even mainstream media cant spin a positive turn about vaccines on this. Period, the more the virus evolves the less your outdated vaccine that's already waning over time works

So why the hell do you care so much people are also dying from a virus that should very well be treated as endemic by now?

Singapores epidemic situation is still extremely favourable, said NUS vice dean Cook, citing the 55 deaths and six in the ICU as of Monday. While we would expect this number to rise in the days ahead, the severe cases the city state has been having are overwhelmingly among the minority of the population who declined to be vaccinated.

I totally support people getting the vaccine, and I myself am fully vaccinated. But the truth is that regardless vaccine or not, the virus is HERE to stay.

A country can get 100% vaccination for all I know and still experience a huge infection spike yet again. Because

  1. the vaccine wanes over time
  2. the virus will keep on mutating
  3. old people will always still be somewhat susceptible
  4. it's impossible to get everyone vaccinated regardless

Like...what are you expecting here? The virus to suddenly disappear if everyone gets vacc'ed?

Also you do realize many many other countries are failing to get their populations vacc'ed and at this point probably don't care? Do we just keep all our international borders closed up forever then?

to protect the 10% at the cost of the very livelihoods, mental well-being, economic damage to the 90% of society?

to how much government tax payer monies do we keep burning to provide free vaccines and prop up the economy for??

The end problem is only preventing ICUs from being overfilled with patients. So work on that. Expand the hospital spaces maybe? Accomodate more people?

You can see once cases stablize, so too, will the number of people being sent to ICU, even if the number is still high.

What happens to all the people that probably would have survived covid, but died because there was no space in the hospitals?

If they 'probably would have survived covid', then this high probability means they shouldnt be in the ICU in the first place
