COURT reporter:

A man has been jailed after his dog attacked a young woman on Christmas day, leaving her lip 'hanging off'.
Daniel Herbert, 30, kept his dog in the bathroom during a family gathering. The woman went upstairs and opened the door, before feeling a 'sudden impact' and being knocked backwards.
She later realised she had been bitten by the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The woman was left with serious injuries to her lip and eye.

APOLOGETIC messages:

The woman received a number of apologetic messages from Herbert, including one which read: "I hope youre okay, it wasnt my fault."

OWNER hides pitbull:

In his interview two days later, Herbert claimed he didnt know where it was. The prosecutor said he had removed the dog already as he knew police were going to his house. He later messaged the officer in the case saying he was arranging for the dog to be destroyed - and provided evidence of an invoice from a vet.

SAME dog had attacked a child previously:

The court was told of a previous incident with the same dog, in February 2015, when it bit a child outside a shopping centre.
Mitigating, Mark Fireman said the dog had been well-behaved for most of its life, but didnt like it when people approached.
"It was taken away from him for a period of about six months, and returned to him as it was not deemed as dangerous, per se," Mr Fireman said.

The owner was sentenced to 24 weeks in jail and banned from dog ownership for 10 years. Will he ever own a pit bull again? More at 11.

Remington R51 9mm loaded with Double Tap +P JHP. Hopefully won't have to use it, but like I said, neighbor still has two more pitbulls and he learned absolutely nothing so they could get loose again.

I've already spoken with the sheriff the day I was attacked. He gave me his blessing and said he'd do the same. I do not trust mace to stop a pitbull. It took 5 men to get it off of me, and one cop broke his baton over the fucking things head. I'm not playing around if it happens again.

Yah. It has a grip safety too so you can pull and be ready to go and the weapon is still safe until it is gripped, I like it.

I saw a video of a guy getting attacked by a pit on his own property and he shot it 4 or 5 times with a 40s&w. Found out later the first shot bounced off its skull and just stunned it. So I'm not screwing around with pits, they have those thick ass skulls.
