I don't care that smartphones can fold now, or that video games look slightly better on consoles than they did a year or two ago.

Everything seems so stagnant and dull these days.

i find it hard to get excited about unfinished buggy games and microtransactions

but i dont blame the companies that do this. i blame the fanboy consumers that keep allowing it to happen.

Yes. I can see why older people fell behind when computers and the internet started becoming mainstream. You get older and you just want to stick with what works and don't want to invest the time into figuring out new shit.

It's not that. Everything is just boring and if anything, serves as a constant reminder of things getting worse.

I'm legitimately worried that Facebook Horizon is going to ruin VR, too.

I barely play games these days which is fine by me. I dont really find joy in them like I used to, so why would I bother using up my time playing them? Its not one size fits all, it doesnt mean the games are bad or Im jaded.. just that Ive mostly moved on I think. Technology generally interests me less than it used to but I am still pretty happy that I can accomplish what I can on a microcomputer that fits in my pocket.

Yeah, I've been like this for a little bit now. My general interest in video games has waned and technology in general (mainly because of problems I've had with laptops/Switch/etc.).

I find that its harder to mesh with just any game than when I was a kid, but I can still binge a game Im really into non-stop until it is done.

My interest in videogames waxes and wanes. My lowest level of interest was probably during the 7th gen consoles.

I appreciate technology, but it has never been an interest of mine.

Actually, I feel this way quite often. Feels like a lot of things have peaked. Like, going from 8-bit graphics to polygons was a notable upgrade. Going from polygons to photo-realism was a notable upgrade. But nowhow much more visually improved can these games get? How many more specs can a cell phone have before its just like any other on the market?

I'm as interested in games now as I've ever been, I just have less time for them now than ever.

I think we hit a plateau with gaming. It was a massive change when it transitioned from bit gaming to ps1. Then ps1 to ps2 was quite a jump too.

Nowadays, we've seen everything in games. It's all the same with fresh coat of paint.

An good example is First person shooters. They are all floating cameras with gun sticking out the corner. Some games let u see your legs when you look down, some don't. You're still playing a floating camera either way.

If you look at far cry 6, you can ask yourself, what's in the game that you haven't seen before?
