It's the UK performance so probably won't be as good as the US one but still looking forward to it.

But other than that is was a great experience.

I saw it in Vegas and I loved it. There are some really clever costumes and adaptations of characters and the songs are amazing.

They took it out because they thought it was a bit rapey for a kids film

Had tickets to see it last year and then Covid happened and they canceled everything :(

Got tickets to Hamilton in November a few months ago and now with Delta picking up Im guessing Ill be seeing a refund of that one too :(

London is a strange city. There really isn't anywhere like it in the world



Sure its ugly, dirty, ray, has terrible air quality , full of homeless and you cant take 3 steps without being asked for money

But somehow that all just makes it feel lived in.

There's some legit beautiful sights and buildings. Decent museums

And the transit is bizarre. The roads and layouts are nonsensical and confusing as fuck yet are so constant that it doesn't matter . You can travel across the city awkwardly but very quickly, like solving side puzzles in a video game

And the absolutely bizarre array of stores and their locations

And the constant different smells, wind, air pressure, locations makes it like a mini adventure

I dunno why because "objectively " it's a pretty crappy major city but subjectively I've always liked it.

I ended up spending most of the day just wandering around and talking to people. It was fun

I saw it about 20 years ago. The masks don't cover the actor's faces. Once you get past that it's a fun musical.

Wales has Cardiff which is pretty cool and Scotland has Edinborough and Glasgow.

At the show now and It's good

it's really good.

I'm at the break now and the only complaints are absolute nitpicks

Nalla's actress is weak but she's a kid who cares
Zazu has really bad 4th wall jokes that dont land because the show is unironically too good
Some of the backdrops look fantastic while others are terrible, the inconsistency is weird
Mufasa has swords for no reason
And theres a lot of pointless prancing around to kill time for actors to get into positions/costumes
Also Timon is a guy in a green mascot suit with a puppet... when a Timon mascot suit would be better

But those tiny tiny nitpicks aside, the costumes, singing, dancing, music, acting is all phenomenal

First rate first half

2nd half wasn't as good
lost a lot of steam, songs weren't as good and the climax with scar was week. His "I killed Mufasa" was terrible, I could have done better

Forgot to mention earlier that the stampede scene was weak too but I appreciate how hard it is to replicate a stampede and one the best animated scenes in film history on stage

I think that just demonstrates that the second half of the movie is weaker than first

Still a great show
