So many things in my company are broken, but all that matters is outside sales. It's growing fast, but a complete mess.

It's not a startup been around for 100 yeaes. 9 warehouses in 2 states. They just got super aggressive several years ago, before I got there. All the long-timers say it used to be a good place to work.

Welcome to corporate America. That is, if you're company has gone corporate or not. Many businesses don't care. They'll get slapped with fines if something happens and move on.

Yeah we've been tacking on new projects and buying projects from other companies at too quick of a rate without proper due diligence because HQ has set steep goals for the year. These projects have a lot of problems and some may never even get finished, or at least in the timeframe they want them completed. Meanwhile everyone is getting overwhelmed and quickly burning out. It feels like the wheels are going to fall off in the next few months but who knows.

The real fun part is when they start moving talent around (as in relocating people to new locations) and then wonder why things drop off at the old locations.

Like dude it's because you literally shipped out the top 5 people that were "next in line" for promotions so now the only people left are some guy that doesn't care and someone that's been there all of 6 months.

Almost every business is too hyper focused on growth. Thats why so many buckled during the pandemic issues.

we are looking to build for growth, but we are analyzing our current processes and situation to fix issues and create a shared vision before blasting off growth lids

The company you work for sounds like it's trying to stay afloat, and judging by your description of warehouses and sales, it sounds like the main competition is something like Amazon, which forces it's employees to shit in bags and piss in bottles on the warehouse floor and while driving delivery trucks in order to maximize efficiency.

So either you'll be shitting in bags soon, or doing some other trick to keep up, or your company will go under.

I advise you get out of the private sector, it's not in a good place right now.

Our company does not compete with Amazon. We're industrial. We have a couple big names where were the only people that carry them in the area. We are in absolutely no danger of going under.
