Would you expect them to offer to help you in moving/packing?

As in, would you expect your significant other to come over and help you pack your things, or atleast ask you if you needed any assistance packing or moving?

Yes. I think you'd have to be a pretty shitty person, not just a shitty partner, to not at least offer help.

Are we talking like, the two of you moving in together? Separating? The two of you moving from one place to another?

Yes and in fact unless it's due to scheduling issues, would be a HUGE red flag.

The two of you live separately and one of you is moving into a new place.

I would expect them to ask but knowing me, Ill turn it down. In fact, I probably wont even tell them Im currently packing. There is a reason Im pretty much a loner and the statement above is probably that reason

A new place alone?

Yes, so you both would still be living in your own homes and not together.

Usually yes. But my current GF has kids to I wouldn't want her to. No offense to her kids, but they'd just get in the way.

Hmm, im not sure. It would depend on how serious the relationship was at that point.

Uhh if you are with a 100lb chick and she's not younger than 15 then you have bigger things to worry about.

I think it would partially depend on how often you two see each other and how often you spend time at each other's places.

I think that if me and my S/O have been together for a bit, are close and over at each other's places... I think that I would expect an offer of help.

Stereotypical roles could include:

A guy, helping move furniture and heavy items. Or a girl helping pack the plates/smaller items into boxes.

Unless it is quite explicit and evident that you're extremely independent when it comes to these things, I'd expect at least an offer.

If we're not actually moving in together, then no, I wouldn't expect her to offer to help. She can offer if she wants, but I'm not putting an expectation on something that should be optional. It's like holding the door for someone. It's a nice gesture, but no one should reach the point where it's expected.
