The Public Transit museum in Brooklyn was cool too, though it isn't air conditioned, so be aware of that. Midtown Comics is also pretty cool for pop culture shit. It's a huge comic store with a ton of other merchandise. In general, go wander around Rockefeller Center. It's like a cool underground city. Also, as other people said, go to the Museum of Natural History as well. If you're even remotely into art at all, go to the Met. For food, there used to be a conveyor belt sushi restaurant in midtown but I don't know if it still exists. I think it was "Yo!
