Poll of the Day > I tried a Carolina Reaper pepper last night.

I've wanted to try one for a while, and a friend of mine grew them this year.

I was going to eat one whole pepper, but was told that was a bad idea. Okay, so I just had a slice of one.

It smells like it is going to be hot as heck, and it was. By far the hottest thing I have ever had.

I have two super hot hot sauces in my fridge: insanity sauce and something from tropical pepper company. Those are really hot but do not in any way compare to the Carolina.

The mouth feel of heat wasn't quite as bad as I was expecting, but it gave me an upset stomach and I threw up about half an hour later.

I wanted to try it, but never again. That smell and the burps I had(that recall that hot taste) will give me small nightmares.

Cross that off the list, but dang...I didn't have fun.

I had some chicken seasoned with Reaper, it was almost entirely black on the top, it was painful but about partway through it I just started laughing through the pain and having fun with it, not sure I'd do it again unless it was with a friend but it was an experience.

Yeah, I have a plant with some 30+ reapers growing, along with some other super-hots. They're fun to work with if you know what you're doing but I wouldn't recommend eating them straight.

When it comes to spicy I actually like my stuff on the weaker side, because I am actually a "wimp" with hot stuff. I am a wimp because while I will try any heat level on anything or even straight up, as far as actually eating and enjoying food otherwise, keep it on the mild side for me.

Not interested in anything hotter than a serrano

It was my girlfriend's birthday last week and we did a Hot Ones challenge with some friends. We bought 7 sauces from the website and tried each of them with wings from a local pizza place. They were all pretty good! The Last Dab Apollo was pretty hot. I love the weird head high you get from eating really spicey stuff.
