Ok if this dude is literally self-promoting as the leader of a crime family, that's instant probable cause for a search warrant to listen to every conversation he's ever had. It should not be hard to take these guys down unless they're really not committing that many crimes and the gangster lifestyle is all Hollywood glamor and nothing else.
