Got Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease from my kid, and basically entire mouth and throat is an ulcer.
The nurse checking me out said it was the worst theyve ever seen, and that my throat was so swollen you could barely tell my tonsils had been removed. I also have bumps on my chin, under my beard, that are constantly being tickled by my beard. They dont hurt or sting like acne, but instead are just itchy and annoying. This sucks! I also got that a few years ago. My doctor was utterly baffled and just kept saying how adults don't usually get it as it's a kids disease. He wasn't even sure if I should go to work because it's highly contagious but at the same time it's a kid's disease. Thankfully mine was very mild and went away again in a few days.

Yeah that sounds plenty miserable. Hope you recover soon, and your kid is okay too.

I'm kind of baffled that your doctor would be baffled by it. It happens often enough in adults who work with kids, especially across the summer months. This is exactly the experience my wife and I had. We got it from our kid, and everyone kept saying "adults can't get it".

I was hoping for prescription strength liquid lidocaine, but by the time I got in the room Id forgotten to ask. Shaduln posted... This is exactly the experience my wife and I had.
